(Its fruit is eternal), its fruits and bliss do not cease. (So is its shade), its shade is deepened and does not recede. Al-Baghawi: 2/535.

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 36

(Say, "I have only been commanded to worship Allah), this verse is related to what preceded it, which comes as a response to the deniers as if saying to them: I have only been commanded to worship Allah and affirm His Oneness, so how can you deny that? Ibn Juzay: 1/438.
Question: The Quran ordains a command which coincides with the natural disposition of mankind. What is it?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 36

The eloquence of the Quran is visible in this verse by gradually affirming the Oneness of Allah. Allah says, (to worship Allah), since none of the people of Book would argue with that. Then, comes, (and associate none with Him) to nullify the shirk of the polytheists, and allude to negating the divinity of Jesus (u). Ibn Ashur: 13/158.
Question: This Quran gradually affirms the Oneness of Allah and nullifies shirk. Explain.

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 37

The Quran has two perfections: A perfection of its meanings and aims in being a legislation, and a perfection of its words in being in Arabic. Ibn Ashur: 13/160.
Question: This verse mentions two perfections of the Holy Quran. What are they?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 37

(And if you should follow their inclinations), which means following the desires of polytheists in worshiping others beside Allah. (You would not have against Allah any ally) means: you will have no helper to support you. (Or any protector) to protect you against Allah's punishment. This speech is directed to the Prophet (ﷺ), but intended for all Muslims. Al-Qurtubi: 12/84.
Question: What is the punishment and recompense of those who follow the desires of disbelievers from east and west?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 39

(Allah), the Greatest King. (Eliminates what He wills), the elimination of some Sharia rulings and other things through abrogation. (Or confirms) whatever He wills by affirming and decreeing. All of that follow the best interests that are suitable for each period of time, as He is the All-Knowing, the Effecter of what He intends and none can object to Him. Al-Biqai: 4/160.
Question: What is the wisdom behind abrogating some of Sharia rulings and affirming others?

Ar-Ra'd Verses 0 - 41

The diminishing of the land is due to what is conquered by Muslims from disbelievers' land, which means: Do the disbelievers not see that, and be concerned that We should make you overpower them. Moreover, it is said that the land means the whole earth, and that it is diminished through the death of its inhabitants, the destruction of its crops and the ruining of its communities. Ibn Juzay: 1/439.
Question: Diminishing the land from its sides has several meanings. Explain.
