At-Tawbah Verses 0 - 55

Do not be impressed by the wealth or children of these hypocrites, for there is no blessing in that. One of the serious evil consequences of them is that their hearts become attached to them, and their aspirations do not go beyond them, thus they become their ultimate goal, and there is no room left in their hearts for any thought of the Hereafter. This dictates that when they leave this world, their souls depart while they are still disbelievers. Al-Saadi: 340.
Question: How do the wealth and children of hypocrites become a cause for their disbelief in Allah, the Almighty?

At-Tawbah Verses 0 - 55

When Allah wants to gradually lead some people to destruction, He often increases their wealth and children. When they see their excess of wealth over the believers, they attribute that to being honored by Allah, so they continue down this path until they die. In fact, Allah does not want to reward them, rather, to try them. Al-Biqai: 3/334.
Question: Is the abundance of wealth and children a sign of Allah's pleasure with a servant?

At-Tawbah Verses 0 - 58

Their pleasure and rage are for something other than Allah, and this is the case of one who is attached to authority, image, or similar things in accordance with his whims. If he gains it, then he is pleased, and if not, he becomes enraged. So, he is a slave of his whims because submissiveness is a deed of the heart, hence, whatever makes the heart submissive, then the heart, in turn, becomes a slave to it. Ibn Taimyah: 3/380.
Question: True submissiveness is a deed of the heart. Explain in light of the verse.

At-Tawbah Verses 0 - 58

It is inappropriate for a servant to be pleased or resentful on the basis of his own whims and desires, or for the sake of worldly matters and corrupt aims; rather, his inclinations should be in accordance with what pleases his Lord. Al-Saadi: 340.
Question: The Muslim should always be rightfully content. How?

At-Tawbah Verses 0 - 58

Meaning: The hypocrite criticizes your distribution of charities and slanders you by saying that Muhammad gives only those whom he likes. Al-Baghawi: 2/293.
Question: Casting doubts on the intentions of today's scholars and preachers; is this a new or an old tactic?

At-Tawbah Verses 0 - 61

(They say, "He listens to everyone"), he listens to everything said to him and believes it. (Say, "He listens to what is best for you), he listens to the good and truth. (Trusts the believers), he believes what the believers say. Ibn Juzay: 1/262.
Question: Why did the hypocrites describe the Prophet (ﷺ) as (he listens to everyone)? How did Allah respond to them?

At-Tawbah Verses 0 - 61

A painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. Part of that painful punishment is that it is mandatory to execute the one who says offensive things about the Messenger (ﷺ), or impugns him. Al-Saadi: 342.
Question: Give an example of a painful punishment in this life for one who offends the Prophet (ﷺ).
