Allah describes to His servants the sign of a person who is blessed and guided. If Allah opens a person's heart to Islam, and it is filled with the light of faith and certainty, so that he feels at ease with it, loves good deeds and finds joy in doing them, and does not find them burdensome, then this is a sign that Allah has guided him and has blessed him with faith and led him to the straight path. Al-Saadi: 272.
Question: What is the sign of guidance that one feels within himself?
For one who is gone astray, accepting faith is as hard as trying to climb up into the sky, which is not possible. Ibn Juzay: 1/285.
Question: What is the similarity between one who is gone astray and another who wants to climb up into the sky?
Allah Has compared the disbeliever's repulsion toward faith to one who overburdened himself with what he could not bear just as climbing up into the sky is not bearable. Al-Qurtubi: 9/25.
Question: For one who is gone astray, accepting faith is difficult or rather impossible. Explain.
Home of Peace is Paradise in the Hereafter. It is called that because everyone who enters it is safe from all tribulations and calamities. Al-Baghawi: 2/63.
Question: What is (Home of Peace)? Why is it called that?
Meaning: It is Our way to create an alliance between every wrongdoer and another one like him to entice him and urge him to do evil, and to turn him away and divert him from goodness. This is a severe punishment from Allah, with terrible consequences and a serious impact. It is the wrongdoer's fault, because he is the one who brought it upon himself. (And your Lord is never unjust to His slaves) [41:46]. If people do a great deal of corruption and evil, and they withhold what is due from them, Allah will put evildoers in charge of them, who will afflict them with the worst torment, and will take from them unjustly and by force many times more than what they withheld of what is due to Allah and to His servants. Al-Saadi: 273.
Question: Describe two examples of the alliance between wrongdoers.
This is a threat to the wrongdoer that if he does not cease his transgression, Allah will empower another wrongdoer over him. Fudhail bin Iyadh said: "When you see a wrongdoer taking revenge on another, pause and reflect with wonder." Al-Qurtubi: 9/30.
Question: How does Allah punish a wrongdoer in this life?
Meaning: Messengers from among you had come with clear proofs alerting you to the wrongs that you have been doing, and warning you of Allah's punishment, but you did not accept nor remember nor reflect. Al-Tabari: 12/120.
Question: Alerting the wrongdoers to their transgression before punishment is the approach of the Quran. Explain in light of this verse.
